Koberna, Head Athletic Trainer
Tim
Koberna is in his fourth year as the head trainer of the Wartburg athletic training department. He has been on staff since January
of 2006.
Including
his current five-year stint with Albion, Koberna has been involved
in the athletic training field since his sophomore year at Mount
Union College of Ohio. After working three seasons as an undergraduate
in the Mount Union athletic department, Koberna moved on to Western
Michigan University, gaining his Master's degree in 1992 and staying
on with the Broncos until the summer of 2000 as the head hockey
trainer and eventual assistant director of medical services and
head director of medical services roles where he worked with the
football program. Koberna has also been a volunteer at the United
States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., and
with the Detroit Lions' summer camp. |

Amanda Ellson, Assistant Athletic Trainer - View Video
A former Western Michigan University graduate assistant, Ellson is in her first year at Wartburg in 2009-10. She previously served as an A.T. at Plainwell High School in Michigan from August to June of 2009 while working towards her master's degree in exercise and sports medicine at Western Michigan. Ellson is scheduled to complete her master's degree this December.
Her resume also includes work as a head A.T. of the Kalamazoo Outrage soccer club of the United Soccer League from May through July of 2008 and May through June of 2009 as well as working with the Michigan High School Athletics Association girls state tennis tournament, the Michigan Blind Athletic Association, the Kalamazoo Outlaws semi-professional football club, and the United States Tennis Association's ages 16 to 18 boys junior nationals in Kalamazoo.

Tracy Steffen is in her second year as an assistant trainer in the Wartburg athletic training department.
Steffen came to Wartburg after serving as a certified athletic trainer at Liberty Center High School in Liberty Center, Ohio, and Napoleon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine of Napoleon, Ohio, last year. She was also a graduate assistant at Toledo University of Ohio from 2005-07 and a student trainer at the University of Northern Iowa from 2002-05. A native of Dyersville, Steffen earned her bachelor of arts in athletic training from UNI in May of 2005 and her masters of science in kinesiology from Toledo University last May. |
